If bedtime feels like a battle, you’re definitely not the only one. For the longest time, I used to dread that last stretch of the day.

Bath time would drag on. Pyjamas suddenly “felt itchy.” Toothbrushing was somehow the most difficult task in the world. And just when I thought I was winning… “Mummy, I need water.”

It was frustrating - especially when all I wanted was some peace and quiet before bed myself.

But one night, after yet another round of “please just go to sleep,” I realised something

In a few years, they won’t be calling for me like this anymore. They won’t need my help to choose pyjamas. They won’t ask me to lie next to them “just for a while.”

So I started shifting how I saw bedtime. Instead of rushing through it, I tried to find little ways to make it feel lighter for both of us.

We made up a silly song for brushing teeth. We had a quick “best thing that happened today” chat while getting dressed. We lay in bed with the lights off for just a minute, listening to the fan and their breathing slow.

It didn’t magically remove every meltdown or delay but it changed the energy.

Bedtime became less about winning a battle and more about ending the day with connection.

That’s why our blankets, pyjamas, BFF pillows aren’t just about sleep. They’re about making this space feel inviting, comfortable and safe, a space they want to be in. Soft on their skin, light enough for our humid nights, and familiar enough to be part of their comfort every evening.

And if you’ve been thinking of trying one, or restocking a favourite, now’s the best time.

With love, Shennon
